Srinagar, Pahalgam town and Gulmarg’s built-up bits have usable 4G most days, with the usual dead corners indoors. Hotel Wi-Fi is for the evening, not for navigation in a lane.
Out of town
Download an offline map of the valley before you land, while you still have a boring reliable connection. Pin the hotel. Razdan Pass, the road to Yusmarg, and anything above the last tea stall will embarrass a live map.
Power cuts happen. A battery pack is more useful than a second streaming subscription. Tell someone your Gurez or trek plan before you lose signal, not from the pass.
